U.S DEPLOYING F-16S AND F-35S TO MIDDLE EAST AS IRAN WAR HEATS BACK UP

The United States has deployed additional fighter jets and military assets to the Middle East as tensions with Iran continue to escalate following the collapse of a ceasefire.

Among the aircraft being sent are Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon jets from the 480th Fighter Squadron based in Germany and F-35 Lightning II fighters from the 48th Fighter Wing in the United Kingdom. Aerial refueling tankers are also being moved into the region to support ongoing operations.

The increased deployment comes as the U.S. expands its air campaign against Iran after negotiations broke down over disputes involving the Strait of Hormuz. American forces have reportedly carried out strikes on several infrastructure and military targets inside Iran, including bridges and strategic facilities.

Although both countries exchanged attacks during the ceasefire period, the conflict has intensified in recent days. Earlier, the U.S. had begun withdrawing some of the aircraft deployed for previous operations, including B-52 bombers, F-22 Raptors, F-15E Strike Eagles and A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft. However, many Air Force and Navy assets have remained in the region.

The 480th Fighter Squadron, known for its expertise in suppressing enemy air defenses, has now returned to the Middle East just weeks after completing an earlier deployment.

In addition to reinforcing its military presence, the United States has reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports and widened its airstrikes to cover more targets across Iran.

Iran has also stepped up its response, launching attacks that reportedly targeted facilities in Kuwait, including a power and water desalination plant. The country has also carried out strikes against Qatar and Oman as hostilities continue to spread across the Gulf region.

The conflict, which began with U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran earlier this year, has evolved into one of the region’s most significant military confrontations in recent years. Since the ceasefire ended, Iran has expanded its attacks beyond U.S. military bases to include broader regional targets.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Kenneth S. Wilsbach said American forces remain actively engaged in the operation, praising personnel for maintaining military operations despite repeated attacks on bases across the region.
