The Federal Government has announced that the Ebola patient in Nigeria is showing signs of recovery, while assuring the public that there is currently no evidence of community transmission.
The Ministry of Health disclosed that contact tracing, quarantine and monitoring are ongoing as part of efforts to prevent the virus from spreading. Authorities are also strengthening coordination, improving healthcare facility preparedness and implementing public health measures.
The government has urged Nigerians to observe recommended safety precautions, obtain information from recognised health authorities and avoid spreading unverified reports.
The update comes after health officials confirmed that the patient had contracted the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola. A total of 44 contacts have been identified for monitoring as part of the containment efforts.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation and are working to prevent further transmission of the disease.
