2027: SOLUDO TARGETS 50% OF ANAMBRA VOTES FOR TINUBU AS APGA ADOPTS PRESIDENT

Governor’s declaration reinforces Tinubu’s expanding cross-party political strategy as National Patriots update electoral projection to 26 states plus FCT.

AWKA, November 7, 2026 — Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has pledged to deliver at least 50 per cent of the state’s votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, following the adoption of the President by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Soludo made the declaration during APGA’s campaign flag-off at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, where the party presented its candidates for the forthcoming elections.

The announcement introduces another dimension to President Tinubu’s expanding cross-party political arrangements, particularly in the South-East, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded limited electoral support in 2023.

Addressing supporters, Soludo declared:

“Today, we adopt the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as our candidate.”

The governor explained that APGA would not field a presidential candidate in 2027 but would support Tinubu while pursuing its legislative ambitions.

He recalled APGA’s previous support for presidential candidates outside its political platform, including former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Soludo acknowledged Tinubu’s limited electoral performance in Anambra in 2023, when the President received fewer than 5,000 votes, but highlighted the administration’s subsequent engagement with the state.

He cited federal infrastructure interventions, including the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, and argued that political cooperation could strengthen Anambra’s development prospects.

SOLUDO JOINS TINUBU’S EXPANDED CAMPAIGN STRUCTURE

Soludo’s declaration follows his inclusion as Anambra State Coordinator in President Tinubu’s expanded presidential campaign arrangements.

The structure incorporates prominent political figures beyond the APC, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Their involvement illustrates a campaign approach that accommodates political cooperation without necessarily requiring participating politicians to abandon their existing party affiliations.

In Anambra, APGA’s established grassroots organisation provides an additional platform for presidential campaign mobilisation across the state’s 21 local government areas.

The development also reflects the increasing emphasis on state-level coordination, political alliances and geographical electoral reach.

ADEBAJO-FRASER’S THISDAY ANALYSIS AND THE FIRST-ROUND PATHWAY

Significantly, Soludo’s declaration follows an analysis published in THISDAY on Friday, November 6, by Princess Gloria Adebajo-Fraser, MFR, President of the National Patriots and Member of the APC-PCC Strategic Communications Team 2027.

Her article, Tinubu’s 2027 Electoral Strategy: How APC’s Expanding Political Machinery Is Reshaping the Presidential Contest, examined governors’ networks, cross-party alliances, membership strength and the electoral arithmetic underpinning the National Patriots’ assessment.

Adebajo-Fraser wrote:

“The central electoral question is cumulative national strength, not simply the number of states a candidate carries.”

The analysis examined Tinubu’s 2023 electoral baseline of 8,794,726 votes and illustrative scenarios involving 11 million and 12 million votes, alongside constitutional geographical-spread requirements.

Originally presenting a 25-state-plus-FCT scenario, the National Patriots have subsequently updated their political assessment to 26 states plus the Federal Capital Territory.

The organisation’s position is that expanding political alliances, coordinated state-level mobilisation and cumulative national vote strength provide the basis for its projected first-round victory without a runoff.

The projection remains a political assessment rather than a scientific opinion poll.

POLITICAL ORGANISATION AND GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION

In a related Headlinenews.News publication on November 2, Adebajo-Fraser emphasised the importance of converting political organisation into electoral support.

She observed:

“Elections are not won on social media timelines. They are contested through political structures, grassroots organisation, public confidence, credible leadership and the ability to translate national influence into votes.”

Soludo’s announcement provides a practical illustration of the cross-party mobilisation arrangements discussed in both publications.

APGA’s decision places an established state political organisation behind Tinubu’s presidential candidacy while preserving its separate political identity.

The immediate significance lies in the commitment to organise presidential support in a state where Tinubu recorded fewer than 5,000 votes in 2023.

Soludo’s 50 per cent target is ambitious, and its achievement will depend on the electorate’s decisions in 2027.

Nevertheless, the declaration adds Anambra to the growing discussion surrounding cross-party cooperation, state-level campaign structures and the changing political geography of the presidential contest.

NATIONAL PATRIOTS POSITION

The National Patriots commend President Tinubu’s expanded political strategy and Governor Soludo’s decision to support his re-election. The Anambra declaration reflects growing cross-party cooperation and grassroots mobilisation. Our updated 26-state-plus-FCT assessment anticipates a decisive first-round victory, without a runoff, based on expanding political alliances, nationwide organisation and cumulative electoral strength. Ultimately, Nigerians will determine the outcome through their votes.
