#Abuja Warehouse Looting: Police Detain 15 Suspects.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has announced the arrest of 15 suspects linked to the vandalism of a warehouse owned by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja. The incident involved the theft of food items, doors, and roofing sheets from the warehouse, which occurred on Sunday.

According to reports from residents, the looting of grains began at 7:00 am and lasted until 9:00 am, with individuals from neighboring communities such as Jiwa and Karmo also participating in the unlawful activity.

This incident comes amid rising inflation rates, exacerbating the cost of living crisis across Nigeria, prompting protests in various parts of the country, including recent rallies organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the FCT police, confirmed the arrest of several suspects connected to the looting. Notably, two security guards employed by the warehouse management were among those apprehended.

Recovered items from the suspects included 26 bags of maize, five motorcycles, and vandalized aluminum roofing sheets.

In a statement, Adeh emphasized that the police command was fully aware of the attack on the Agric Department Strategic food store located in the Tasha area of Abuja on March 3. She assured the public that normalcy had been restored to the area, and the situation was under control.Breaking news HeadlineHeadline news
