The campaign launch, held on Saturday, attracted party leaders, candidates and supporters, with speakers outlining their plans to address economic hardship and improve governance across the state.

Former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha said he supported the party’s candidates because of their commitment to integrity, equality and people-centred leadership.
Ihedioha maintained that his administration had prioritised public welfare and responsible governance. He also expressed disappointment over the abandonment of projects initiated during his tenure, including the proposed construction of stadiums across the state’s 27 local government areas and the expansion of the Adapalm plantation.
He argued that electing ADC candidates would strengthen local government autonomy, allowing councils to respond more effectively to the needs of rural communities, particularly through urgent road repairs.
David Mark Calls for Support
ADC National Chairman David Mark, represented by the party’s National Vice Chairman, Bon Unachukwu, described the turnout at the rally as an indication of growing public acceptance.
Mark urged voters to support the party’s candidates, saying the ADC intended to tackle insecurity and economic hardship while promoting prosperity and development.
The party’s Owerri Zonal Chairman, Ben Mere, also called on members to take the campaign message to communities, villages and wards throughout the state. He said the party’s structure in the zone was united and prepared to contest the forthcoming elections.

Candidates Outline Their Priorities
The ADC candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Uchenna Ofoegbu, said his priorities would include reducing poverty and providing effective representation in the National Assembly.
He identified youth and women empowerment, rural road rehabilitation and improved access to community healthcare as key areas of focus. Ofoegbu also said the party planned to introduce measures to protect votes during the elections.
Meanwhile, Okey Amadi, the party’s candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, promised improved healthcare, stronger security and greater accountability if elected.

Amadi said he would regularly present reports on his performance to constituents and pursue legislative initiatives that address their needs.
Other candidates introduced at the event included William Merem for Owerri North, Chidiebere Mere for Owerri Municipal and Francis Ugorji for Owerri West State Constituencies. The party’s Imo State Chairman, James Okoroma, also attended.
The event concluded with the presentation of party flags to candidates contesting state and National Assembly seats, marking the formal start of their campaign activities.
The ADC said its campaign would focus on transparent governance, economic recovery, security and community development as it seeks electoral support across Imo State and the country in 2027.
