The African Democratic Congress (African Democratic Congress) in Kebbi State has elected its new state executives through a consensus arrangement during its recent congress, while also calling on supporters to mobilise ahead of upcoming elections to challenge the ruling party.

During the congress, former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aminu Bande, who recently joined the ADC, urged supporters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and actively participate in efforts to unseat the All Progressives Congress at both state and national levels. He encouraged political unity and voter mobilisation, saying it was necessary to address the challenges facing citizens.

Also speaking at the event, former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, called on party members to remain committed to strengthening the ADC in Kebbi State. He expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence following the defection of key political figures and reaffirmed that the party was determined to remain a strong political force in the state.

The congress committee from the party’s national headquarters confirmed that the exercise was conducted peacefully across wards, local government areas, and the state level, in line with electoral guidelines and without any reported disputes. Officials noted that the process complied with the provisions of the Electoral Act.

At the congress, a motion for the adoption of consensus was moved and seconded by party leaders, leading to the affirmation of new state executives. Those elected include Engineer Sufiyanu Bala as Chairman, Musa Argungu as Vice Chairman, Abubakar Kalgo as Secretary, Haruna Haruna Jega as Publicity Secretary, and Dan Yaro Gwandu as Financial Secretary.

The development reflects ongoing political realignments in Kebbi State as parties intensify preparations ahead of future elections.
