Confusion arose when the wives of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, reportedly distributed two posters to welcome Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to the state.
The confusion stemmed from both wives signing off as the First Lady of Osun State.
An individual with the username @remidotun86 shared on Sunday the two distinct posters printed by the two spouses, Ambassador Arelu Ngozi Adeleke and Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, extending greetings to Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on her visit to the state.
Nigeria’s First Lady is scheduled to visit Osogbo, the state capital, on Tuesday for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Alternative High School For Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road.
In Titilola Adeleke’s poster, she wrote: “Official turning of the sod ceremony of the Alternative High School For Girls at Oke D.O, Ilesha Road, Osogbo”.
On the other hand, Ngozi Adeleke wrote in her poster: “Welcome to the state of living spring. Experience the beauty of Osun State.
Meanwhile, Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State, has distanced himself from a flyer allegedly originating from the office of one of his wives, Mrs. Ngozi Adeleke, which purportedly welcomed Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the state.
The spokesperson for the state governor, Olawale Rasheed, clarified the matter in a statement issued in Osogbo on Monday, affirming that Titilola Adeleke is the recognized First Lady and will be responsible for welcoming Tinubu during her visit.
Rasheed further stated that the circulating flyer allegedly from Ngozi Adeleke’s office was counterfeit, noting that the individual responsible for its creation had been apprehended.
He also emphasized that Ngozi did not authorize the flyer, emphasizing that there is no confusion regarding the official stance.
“The state government under Governor Ademola Adeleke is prepared to host the First Lady and her team.”
