Human rights lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Adeyanju described the appointment as timely, saying Enitan’s extensive administrative experience could help advance ongoing reforms and improve the effectiveness of Nigeria’s civil service.
In a statement, the activist urged the new Head of Service to make the fight against corruption a major priority.
He also called for stronger measures to eliminate the problem of ghost workers, which he identified as one of the longstanding challenges affecting the public service.
Adeyanju further urged Enitan to promote professionalism, efficiency and accountability across government ministries, departments and agencies.
According to him, the appointment presents an opportunity to strengthen existing reforms and rebuild public confidence in the civil service.
He encouraged Enitan to use his experience and new position to address persistent weaknesses within the system and ensure that the public service delivers more effectively for Nigerians.
