The Super Eagles have received congratulations from the Federal Government for their victory against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 semi-final in Ivory Coast.
The semi-final concluded 1-1 after extra time, with the Super Eagles securing a win through penalties.
The three-time champions will face either host Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday.
Following the game, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, commended the Super Eagles’ triumph.
In a statement by his media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, the minister expressed the nation’s support for the team’s historic journey in African and global football.
Idris hailed Nigeria’s performance as legendary, emphasizing the team’s exceptional talent, determination, and teamwork throughout the match, showcasing the true spirit of Nigerian football.
