Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has expressed his confidence in securing the All Progressives Congress governorship ticket in April and emerging victorious in the general election in November of this year.
Aiyedatiwa, who assumed office as governor of Ondo State less than two months ago, revealed that his predecessor, the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, had prophesied that he (Aiyedatiwa) would be the next governor of the Sunshine State. Describing his late boss as a visionary, he recounted how Akeredolu had foreseen his future governorship.
During a meeting with officials and members of the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers in Akure on Saturday, the governor reiterated his confidence in his upcoming victories. Mr. Kayode Fasua, the LACO-FS State Director of Information, conveyed this statement in a release on Sunday.
Aiyedatiwa affirmed, “My supporters should continue working tirelessly, as my victory in the primary and general elections is divinely ordained.”
He added, “This fulfillment of becoming governor was envisioned by my late boss, Governor Akeredolu. Many are unaware of Akeredolu’s prophetic nature; he once declared during an executive council meeting after returning from a medical leave that ‘Aiyedatiwa will emerge as the next governor.'”
The governor emphasized that his aspiration to contest for the governorship transcended the mandate of his joint ticket with the late Akeredolu, portraying it as a genuine endeavor to revitalize Ondo State and enhance the welfare of its citizens.
According to the statement, Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, the LACO-FS Convener, revealed that over 250,000 campaigners, known as ‘Foot Soldiers,’ had been deployed across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State to secure victory for Aiyedatiwa in both the primary and general elections.
Likewise, Mr. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye, the Director-General of the group, announced plans for a comprehensive tour of all local government areas, led by Aiyedatiwa himself, starting from this week until mid-March.
Among other governorship aspirants on the APC platform are former House of Representatives member Mr. Mayowa Akinfolarin, former Secretary to the State Government Mrs. Oladunni Odu, former Special Adviser to the governor on Health Prof. Francis Faduyile, Chief Olusola Oke, former Chairman of OSOPADEC Mr. Gbenga Edema, Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, and Dr. Paul Akintelure.
