Senator Shehu Buba Dumps APC For PRP Over Alleged Lack Of Internal Democracy
The Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), citing a lack of internal democracy and fairness within the ruling party.

Buba, a former APC governorship aspirant, said his decision followed widespread consultations with political associates, youth groups, women organisations, and stakeholders across Bauchi State.
He explained that his withdrawal from the APC stemmed from what he described as growing marginalisation of party members and disregard for grassroots voices in the party’s decision-making process.

According to him, the PRP offers a more inclusive political platform built on justice, transparency, accountability, and people-centred leadership in line with Nigeria’s democratic principles.
The senator added that his move to the PRP is aimed at strengthening democratic governance and improving representation for the people of Bauchi State.

He stressed that Nigerian politics must prioritise service delivery, fairness, and policies that address poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and economic hardship.

Buba also urged his supporters to join him in his new party, saying the struggle for good governance and development remains his priority.
He assured constituents that he remains committed to their progress and will continue to provide effective representation.
