The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, mother of the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru. She passed away at the age of 92.

In a condolence message, the party described the late Alhaja Basiru as a devoted Muslim, compassionate mother and respected matriarch who dedicated her life to faith, sacrifice and service to others.

The APC noted that she instilled values of discipline, integrity and devotion to God in her children, leaving behind a lasting legacy that continues to be reflected in their personal lives and public service.

According to the party, her exemplary character, wisdom and moral upbringing played a significant role in shaping the achievements of Senator Basiru and her other children.
On behalf of the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the National Working Committee, party leaders, members and supporters, the APC extended its heartfelt condolences to Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family over the loss.

The party also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, accept her good deeds and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
