The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence that it will meet the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) deadline of July 11 for submitting its presidential and National Assembly candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A senior member of the party’s National Working Committee, who requested anonymity, disclosed that the process of uploading candidates’ information to the INEC nomination portal is at an advanced stage.

According to the official, the details of President Bola Tinubu and his running mate are expected to be submitted before the middle of the week, while the party remains optimistic about completing the entire process before the deadline.
The source also revealed that the APC has made significant progress in uploading the information of its National Assembly candidates, expressing confidence that all required submissions would be completed on schedule.

Meanwhile, party insiders disclosed that the details of several key members of the 10th National Assembly, serving lawmakers, and four state governors who secured senatorial tickets have already been uploaded to the electoral commission’s portal.

The submission process follows the APC’s review of more than 700 petitions filed by dissatisfied aspirants after the party’s primaries. The review resulted in the replacement of six senatorial candidates and 19 House of Representatives candidates across different states.

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka said the party’s priority is ensuring that all cleared candidates complete and submit their INEC Form EC9 nomination documents before the deadline. He added that the final list of candidates will be released at the appropriate time.
