#Army Apprehends Imposter Pretending to be a Soldier in Nasarawa

Headlinenews.news reports that the Nasarawa State Police Command has disclosed that officers of the Nigerian Army apprehended an imposter posing as a soldier in the Awe Local Government Area of the state. Subsequently, they handed him over to the police for further investigation.

This information was conveyed through a press statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, and made available to journalists in Lafia on Thursday.

Nansel explained that the arrest of the alleged fake soldier resulted from diligent efforts by the command’s officers. Additionally, the operatives successfully apprehended Kabiru Yusuf, a notorious armed robbery suspect, known for disrupting the peace of the state’s residents.

He stated, “On 10/01/2024, at about 11:30 a.m., acting based on credible information, operatives of the Command’s robbery team on intelligence-led Patrol along Fadaman Bauna intercepted a group of three young men suspected to be armed robbers riding on an unregistered Bajaj Motorcycle.”

“The hoodlums abandoned the motorcycle and took to flight on sighting the Policemen but were given a hot chase. Consequently, one Kabiru Alhaji Yusuf was arrested while two others escaped. A search was conducted on him, where one AK-47 rifle and a motorcycle were recovered as exhibits.”

The statement also highlighted that Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, praised the officers for their commendable efforts and urged them to remain steadfast in the ongoing battle against criminals across the 13 local government areas of the state.
