#BREAKING: “ADP and Labour Party Secure Victory in Plateau Senate and Rep Rerun Elections

The rerun election for the Plateau North Senatorial Seat has concluded with Pam Dachungyang, the candidate from the Action Democratic Party (ADP), declared as the winner.

According to the Returning Officer, Prof Nestor Monday of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dachungyang secured 122,442 votes, surpassing competitors Mohammed Sahalan of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) with 53,980 votes and Chris Giwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 39,132 votes.

The total registered voters numbered 1,232,825, with 278,129 voters accredited for the election.

The valid votes cast were 274,098, while rejected votes amounted to 2,912, resulting in a total of 277,010 votes cast.

The senatorial elections took place across six local government areas: Bassa, Barkin-Ladi, Jos East, Jos North, Jos South, and Riyom.

In another outcome, the Labour Party’s (LP) Daniel Asama Ago emerged victorious in the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency.

Declared by Returning Officer Prof Garba John, Ago secured 66,422 votes, with Adamu Alkali of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) closely following with 61,670 votes.

The results for all parties in the federal constituency are as follows:

– ADC: 2,090
– APC: 10,063
– APP: 331
– LP: 66,422
– NNPP: 2,475
– NRM: 669
– PRP: 61,670
– SDP: 336
