#BREAKING: Former Local Government Boss Wanted for Alleged Murder of Taraba Lawmaker

Headlinenews.news reports that Former Takum Local Government chairperson in Taraba State, Shiban Tikari, is currently evading authorities due to his suspected involvement in the murder of former lawmaker, Hosea Ibi. This information was revealed by the state commissioner of police, David Iloyanomon, during a press briefing in Jalingo, the state capital. According to Mr. Iloyanomon, Mr. Tikari has been on the run ever since the Chief Judge of the state issued an arrest order against him.

Expressing concerns about Mr. Tikari’s evasion, Mr. Iloyanomon stated that efforts are underway to locate and apprehend him for potential prosecution. Despite reports suggesting Mr. Tikari has left the state, law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing his arrest, emphasizing that it’s only a matter of time before he is apprehended.

The murder victim, Mr. Ibi, a former member of the state House of Assembly representing Takum 1 constituency, was abducted from his residence opposite Ada Barracks in Takum on December 30, 2017. His body was discovered 16 days later along the Takum Kashimbila road within the local government area.

Following investigations, several suspects linked to the killing were apprehended and brought before the state high court. During their cross-examination, these suspects claimed they had been hired by Mr. Tikari to carry out the abduction of the lawmaker.
