Speaking during a special prayer for the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s re-election, the National Coordinator, CoMWA, Rasheedat Adabari, said Sanwo-Olu deserved to be re-elected for another four years due to the massive development witnessed under his administration and his policies touched the lives of many Nigerians.

“We hasten to reckon that under him, the Blue Line abandoned for years has finally seen the light of the day. The Red Line is also nearing completion, apart from many road projects ongoing across the State.

“The 4th Mainland Bridge has recently being contracted and the Opebi-Iya Alaro link bridge inching to competition. They are good testimonies of a government that is strategic in infrastructural development. The impacts of these two bridges decongesting roads and shortening journey time when they are completed are better imagined in a state where a quantum of man-hour is lost in traffic,” she said.

She commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for a well-done job on February 25. “I implore the umpire to keep up the good job of impartiality and be more committed to deepening our democracy. We implore all ad-hoc staff of the electoral body to resist any attempt to make them compromise. The eyes of the world are on you all.”

Grand Patron of COMWA, Dr. Nurudeen Olaleye, said during the presidential election some people did not come out to exercise their civic rights, but this time, they have been sensitized is to ensure that they come out and cast their votes.

“Lagos is one of the most secure states in the country and we want to ensure that the trend continues beyond the election across the state. This administration has put its footprints in all sectors including education, health and infrastructure.

“COMWA has representations across the state and network, so we will be using the group’s network to reach out to the people on the need to vote for all APC candidates including Sanwo-Olu. We will be working from mosque to mosque, to get the message to our people. And I can assure the governor that there will be massive votes in his favour,” Olaleye assured.

Member of the group, Rofiat Akinyemi a lawyer, urged Lagosians to come on Saturday to vote for Sanwo-Olu.

Her words: “We are assuring Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Hamzat of our support and mobilisation for the poll. We will ensure that more people get to understand the benefits that await them for voting Sanwo-Olu and they should come out to cast their votes.”

First Vice Chairperson of COMWA, Sherifat Yusuf-Ajibade, said the group support is not based on religion but on the equity that the government has brought to Lagosians.

“We don’t want religion to divide us. We understand that this is a winning team. This is a man that understands the importance of rule of law and likes to be fair. We are mobilising house to house and mosque to mosque to convince the people to cast their votes for Sanwo-Olu,” she said.
