United Kingdom Prime Minister, Mr Rishi Sunak has joined others to congratulate Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his victory at last weekend poll.
Sunak on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday noted that the UK government is looking forward to work with Tinubu-led Nigerian government in the areas of trade and security.
“Congratulations to @officialABAT on his victory in Nigeria.
“The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries” Sunak tweeted.
The fact that the Government of the United Kingdom has congratulated Tinubu as the Nigerian President- Elect is an indication that the Commonwealth Observer report submitted must have given the elections a pass. Few incidents, but not enough to affect the integrity of the elections or results. The other G20 Countries will soon send congratulatory messages. Tinubu’s acceptance as President- Elect by the International Community is commendable.
