Headlinenews.news reports that Two of Kano’s esteemed and influential families are on the brink of a union through the marriage of their children. The bride, Batoul, is the daughter of Senator Aminu Sule Garo, a billionaire businessman and politician, and the granddaughter of the late Alhaji Sule Galadima Garo, a prominent business tycoon in Kano known for his pioneering work in cotton and leather exports. Additionally, she holds the title of Princess as her maternal lineage traces back to the former king of Kano, Mohammed Sanusi the First, and the late Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto.
The groom, Meedan Isyaka Rabiu, is the son of the late Sheikh Khalifa Rabiu, a notable Nigerian businessman and Islamic scholar. Meedan, who pursued Economics at the University of Hertfordshire in the UK, is actively involved in the Rabiu family business. Batoul, on the other hand, graduated from Heriot Watt University in Dubai with a degree in Architecture.
Although the couple had familial ties, their formal relationship began when Meedan reached out to Batoul on social media to express his interest. Following this, invitations have been extended to guests and families to celebrate their impending nuptials.
The wedding festivities commenced with a private slumber party organized by Batoul’s friends and sisters in Kano, followed by the traditional henna ceremony where the bride and her friends adorned themselves with henna while enjoying food and drinks. The event was beautifully decorated by Kano’s renowned event decorator, The Party Republic NG, with Batoul donning an exquisite outfit designed by Indulgence Couture.
The wedding program spans five days, with the Kamu ceremony scheduled for Thursday, April 25, 2024, marking the formal introduction of the bride to the groom’s family at the Amani Event Center in Kano. The wedding Fatiha/Daurin Aure will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Al Furqan Mosque, followed by the bridal shower in the evening. The festivities culminate on April 28, 2024, with the Kai Amarya/Budan Kai, where the bride is escorted to her husband’s house, followed by a welcoming party hosted by the groom’s family.
This union holds significant importance as both families are deeply rooted and esteemed within the Kano community.
