Yoruba Nation activist and founder of the Iru Ekun Security Network, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has directed members of the security outfit to take firm action against armed bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements operating across the South-West.
Igboho gave the directive while addressing members of the security network, urging them to remain vigilant and work with relevant security agencies whenever they identify criminal activities in their communities.
He warned that operatives must not hesitate when confronting armed criminals, noting that bandits and kidnappers pose serious threats to residents and security personnel.
Igboho also disclosed that the security outfit had lost one of its members during a gun battle with armed bandits in Iwere-Ile.
He urged members of Iru Ekun to remain alert and ensure that criminals do not turn forests, highways and rural communities in the South-West into safe havens.
According to him, the reduction in cases of kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes in parts of Yorubaland should be sustained through continued cooperation between community security groups and government security agencies.
The activist also called on residents to promptly alert the police and other relevant authorities whenever they notice suspicious activities or the presence of criminals in their communities.
