The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of ₦2 billion as he faces trial over alleged money laundering charges.
In delivering the ruling, Justice Inyang Ekwo ordered that Bodejo must provide two sureties, each with a bail bond valued at ₦2 billion.
The court directed that one of the sureties must own landed property within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), while the other is required to present valid tax clearance certificates for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
Justice Ekwo also instructed the court registrar to verify all documents submitted by the sureties before the bail conditions can be deemed fully satisfied.
As part of the bail terms, Bodejo is to surrender all his travel documents to the court. The Nigeria Immigration Service has also been informed, and he is barred from leaving the country or travelling outside the court’s jurisdiction without prior approval.
The matter was adjourned until October 5, 6, and 7, 2026, for the continuation of the trial.
Bodejo was arraigned on July 9, 2026, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 12-count charge bordering on the alleged laundering of $2.33 million.
He pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and the case is expected to proceed on the scheduled hearing dates.
