COURT GRANTS SOWORE BAIL WITH N200 MILLION AND TWO SURETIES AS CONDITIONS

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, in the sum of N200 million.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Mohammed Umar ordered that Sowore provide two sureties as part of the bail conditions. One of the sureties must be a traditional ruler from his community, while the second must own landed property in Abuja.

The court also directed that both sureties be verified by the prosecution before the bail can take effect.

In addition, Sowore was ordered to surrender his international passport to the Deputy Chief Registrar of the court.

The judge ruled that he should remain in custody until all the bail conditions have been fully met.
