Aliko Dangote is planning to take the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to the United States stock market after completing an expansion that will significantly increase its processing capacity.
The refinery, which currently has a capacity of about 700,000 barrels per day, is expected to undergo an expansion that would raise its capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day.

The planned expansion and potential US listing are part of Dangote’s broader strategy to strengthen the refinery’s global position and attract more international investment.

The refinery is also preparing for a major public offering in Nigeria, with the company seeking to raise substantial capital to support its expansion plans. The Nigerian public offer is scheduled to begin in September 2026.

The planned US listing would give international investors another avenue to gain exposure to the refinery and could further increase its presence in the global energy and capital markets.
The development comes as the refinery continues to expand its operations and increase its role in Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
