Davido Says He Doesn’t Want His Children to Pursue Music
Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he would prefer none of his children to follow in his footsteps by pursuing a career in music.
Speaking during an interview on Vibe, the singer explained that his decision is based on the challenges he has personally faced in the entertainment industry.
Davido disclosed that his second daughter, Hailey, is already showing signs of interest in music and even has a good singing voice, but he is still reluctant about encouraging her to take that path.

“I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. My second daughter is already leaning towards music. She is the life of the party and behaves just like me. She actually has a good voice,” he said.
The award-winning artist admitted that the music industry has been demanding and questioned whether his children would be able to cope with the same pressures.
“But I know what I went through. Can you go through what I go through? Knowing what I have been through.”
Despite his concerns, Davido said he would never stand in the way of his children’s dreams. He noted that his own parents eventually supported his decision to pursue music, and he intends to give his children that same freedom.
“Because my parents and my family eventually allowed me to chase my dreams, I would never want to block any of my children from chasing theirs. And if they are good, why not?” he added.
