Nollywood actress and filmmaker Dayo Amusa has expressed frustration over what she describes as the harsh and unpredictable realities of Nigerian politics, particularly the struggle aspirants face in securing party tickets.
In a series of posts shared on X on Sunday, Amusa said the political process is often financially exhausting and filled with uncertainty, despite assurances given to aspirants by party leaders.

She lamented that many individuals invest significant resources in seeking party nominations but still end up with little or no support during primaries.
According to her, there is often a gap between promises made by political actors and the actual outcomes of internal party elections.
Amusa also questioned the credibility of some political leaders, accusing them of giving hopeful signals to multiple aspirants while ultimately backing only selected candidates behind closed doors.

She further criticised what she described as misleading political interactions, where aspirants are encouraged and publicly addressed in ways that do not reflect their actual chances of securing party tickets.

The actress added that politics is highly unpredictable and emotionally draining, noting that many aspirants are often left disappointed after intense campaigning and financial commitments.

She also observed that those who fail to secure party tickets are usually forced to either wait for another election cycle or consider switching to less prominent political platforms.
Amusa’s comments highlight ongoing concerns about internal party democracy and the challenges faced by aspirants in Nigeria’s political system.
