The personal driver of a Pentecostal bishop of End-Reconciliation Ministry in Asaba, Delta State, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his employer and escaping with his Toyota Prado Jeep.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released due to ongoing investigations, was apprehended alongside another individual in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, while allegedly attempting to sell the stolen vehicle.
The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, confirmed the arrest during a press briefing at the police headquarters in Awka on Wednesday.

According to him, the suspect conspired with other individuals still at large to kill the cleric before fleeing with the vehicle in an attempt to dispose of it.
Police said the breakthrough followed an intelligence-led operation by the Rapid Response Squad in Awkuzu, which tracked and intercepted the suspects and recovered the stolen SUV.

Preliminary investigations reportedly indicate that the driver worked with accomplices to carry out the crime, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the gang.

The police commissioner urged members of the public to be more cautious when hiring domestic staff and drivers, stressing the importance of proper background checks and vigilance.
He assured that the command remains committed to intelligence-driven policing and continued efforts to ensure safety and security across the state.
