#Edun Assures of Funding for Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road.

Wale Edun, the minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy has said that the government would ensure the availability of funds for the early completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano dual carriageway project.

The minister disclosed this during his inspection of the project, in the company of David Umahi, the minister of Works.

According to Edun, infrastructure was a critical priority of President Bola Tinubu-led administration as it sought to achieve a reduction in food prices, ease transportation of agricultural produce, and movement of citizens across the country.

“We are here on an inspection tour under the mandate of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to examine and hear from the contractors and see their commitment, encourage and support them to the early completion of this all-important project, and urge them to do more.”

The minister who assured of the availability of funds for the early completion of the road project, said that the dual carriageway was a viable project.

“We have come, we have seen the level of commitment of the contractors to the completion of the project as soon as possible.”

The minister who commended the level of progress made on the project said the on-going attempt was to improve domestic resources mobilisation available to highly viable projects such as this.

Umahi, also speaking, said President Tinubu had directed that the project be completed in 24 months.

Umahi said, “The two ministers are sorting out the payment modalities and ensuring milestone completion of the project. We have set specifications that will make the projects stable and stronger.”

He said that the contractors have been directed to concentrate on major carriageways, adding that Nigerians were going to have a sigh of relief.
