EID-EL-KABIR: OGUN POLICE DEPLOY MASSIVE SECURITY ACROSS PARKS, RECREATION CENTRES

Ogun Police Deploy Personnel, Strengthen Security Ahead of Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

The Nigeria Police Force has intensified security operations across Ogun State ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, deploying personnel and operational assets to key public locations to ensure a peaceful festive period.

According to the police, the measures were introduced as part of proactive steps directed by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bode Ojajuni, aimed at guaranteeing safety before, during, and after the 2026 Eid celebrations.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command said officers have been strategically deployed to Eid prayer grounds, major highways, markets, motor parks, recreational centres, residential communities, and other public spaces across the state.

The statement noted that the deployment is intended to enhance “visible policing, effective crowd control, early threat detection, and swift response to any emerging security concerns before, during, and after the celebration.”

It added that the security arrangement is also designed to reassure residents and visitors of their safety, especially given the expected increase in movement during the festive season.

The command further explained that all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders have been placed on high alert in line with directives from the Commissioner of Police.

They have also been instructed to intensify routine patrols, carry out stop-and-search operations where necessary, and ensure close supervision of officers deployed across various locations.

The police said intelligence gathering has been strengthened, alongside improved collaboration with relevant stakeholders to prevent criminal activity and maintain law and order during the celebrations.

Part of the statement read: “They are also to strengthen collaboration with community leaders, transport unions, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance intelligence sharing and prevent any breakdown of law and order during the festive period.”
