#Electricity Subsidy: Don’t Add To Nigerians Pain, Resign If You Can’t Solve Nigeria Power Sector Problem , Oladoja Tells Adelabu

A prominent member of the Oyo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mogaji Olawale Oladoja, urged the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, to resign, citing concerns that adding to the economic challenges faced by Nigerians through subsidy removal is unnecessary. Oladoja advised against removing the electricity subsidy, warning that it could worsen the economic conditions for Nigerians already grappling with hardships. He urged the government to focus on improving the energy sector’s challenges instead. Additionally, he called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to engage industrialists for economic assistance and cooperation, suggesting the reopening of the nation’s borders for food items to address food shortages. Oladoja also expressed support for the National Labour Congress (NLC) proposed National Protest, emphasizing the need for Nigerians, beyond civil servants, to unite against policies that are perceived as anti-masses.
