An Enugu Air aircraft carrying 68 passengers narrowly averted disaster on Thursday after reportedly overshooting the runway while landing at Benin Airport in Edo State and veering into nearby bushland.
Prompt intervention by officials of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) ensured the safe evacuation of all passengers and crew, with no fatalities or reported injuries.
Authorities have commenced investigations to determine the cause of the runway excursion.
