During an exclusive interview with Premium Times on Thursday evening, the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai spoke about the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari working against the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, ahead of the 2023 general elections which is just about 8 days from now.
For about two weeks, there has been strong allegations from the Tinubu’s presidential campaign council against the cabals in the Aso villa who are indirectly using the president’s name to achieve their undercover wills of working against Bola Tinubu in the presidential election because his Godwin Emefiele and Ahmad Lawan was their consensus candidates. However, since both Emefiele and Ahmad Lawan failed to clinch the ticket, they’ve been using ways to bring down Bola Tinubu and that was why they brought up the naira notes scarcity and fuel scarcity, the likes of Nasir El-Rufai and others had earlier alleged.
However, Nasir El-Rufai has further made clarifications about his earlier allegations that the Buhari-led administration is trying its possible best to make sure that another candidate apart from Bola Tinubu wins the presidency. El-Rufai during the interview revealed that anyone saying that Buhari is not supporting Asiwaju Tinubu is wrong because Buhari is working for the ruling APC to retain power after his administration. He said, “Anyone saying that the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not supported by President Muhammadu Buhari is completely wrong. One thing I know is that President Muhammadu Buhari sees the APC as a baby he carried as a pregnancy for eight months. We were in the Action Congress and other parties before we decided to have a handshake with other parties. President Muhammadu Buhari cannot joke with such an establishment”.
While further speaking, El-Rufai said that even if the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu is a devil, he can stake his life and neck that President Muhammadu Buhari would never and ever work against his presidency. He said, “Even if Tinubu is a devil, I can stake my life and neck that Buhari won’t work against him”.
El-Rufai additionally added that the cabals in the Aso villa working against the presidency of Bola Tinubu can’t stop him because Nigerians at large are not going to listen to them, rather everyone would vote for Tinubu because of his achievements in Lagos State when he was a governor.
