The PRM in question, Debola Daniel, the son of a former Ogun State governor, made a social media post detailing his experience and highlighting the broader issue of discrimination against those with disabilities in Nigeria. According to Daniel, he was denied entry to the KFC outlet due to his use of a wheelchair. This incident has sparked outrage, with many people calling for action to be taken against the food outlet.
In response to this incident, the FAAN management has issued a statement expressing its “unreserved apology” to Daniel and all airport users. The statement also notes that the KFC facility at the airport has been shut down and will not be reopened until the management issues an apology to Daniel and institutes a policy of non-discrimination. This policy will be prominently displayed at the KFC facility at the airport.
