FIFA is reportedly planning to extend the halftime break for the 2026 FIFA World Cup final to approximately 30 minutes to accommodate a Super Bowl-style entertainment show.
If approved, the proposal would double the traditional 15-minute halftime interval permitted under the Laws of the Game, making it one of the biggest changes to the tournament’s final.
The move is aimed at delivering a larger entertainment spectacle for fans, similar to the halftime performances featured during the NFL’s Super Bowl. However, the proposal would require adjustments to the existing match regulations before it can be implemented.
