Brazil has revealed that only six African countries are currently included among the nations whose citizens can travel to the country without obtaining a visitor visa.

According to updated guidance from Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, nationals from more than 100 countries are eligible for visa-free entry under the Visitor Visa (VIVIS) exemption policy, which covers short-term travel purposes such as tourism, business visits and other temporary stays.
However, African representation on the exemption list remains limited, with only a small number of countries from the continent qualifying for the arrangement.

The six African countries whose citizens can visit Brazil without applying for a visitor visa are Botswana, Morocco, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa and Tunisia.
Citizens from countries not included in the exemption list are required to obtain the appropriate visa through a Brazilian embassy or consulate before travelling.

Brazilian authorities advised travellers from visa-exempt countries to confirm additional entry requirements before departure, including passport validity and possible proof of onward travel.
The exemption applies only to eligible short-term visits, while other categories of travel may require separate authorization.
