#Hoodlums kill Lagos police officer in Adamawa

A Mobile Police officer from the 43 PMF of the Lagos State Police Command, identified as Inspector Richard Felix, was tragically murdered on New Year’s Day in Adamawa State. The incident occurred at Sangamu Hotel in Yola South Local Government Area around 12:10 a.m., where the 46-year-old officer was attacked by unidentified individuals.

Upon receiving information, the police in Jambutu swiftly responded to the scene and discovered Inspector Felix with severe chest injuries. Despite being rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Yola, he was confirmed dead by the attending doctor.

According to a source, the officer was attacked by thugs while not in uniform, and the motive behind the assault remains unknown. The body of Inspector Felix has been deposited at the mortuary for an autopsy, and one person has been arrested in connection with the incident. The arrested suspect, who sustained injuries during the altercation, is receiving medical attention in the hospital.

Suleiman Nguroje, the Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident, expressing condemnation for the attack. The Commissioner of Police has directed the case’s transfer to the State CID for a thorough investigation to identify the attackers and determine the circumstances leading to the officer’s death. Nguroje emphasized that the law must take its course, emphasizing the equal value of a policeman’s life as that of any Nigerian.

When asked about the reason for the Lagos cop’s presence in Adamawa State, Nguroje stated that an official investigation is underway to ascertain whether the officer was on casual leave, annual leave, special assignments, or other reasons for his presence in Adamawa. The command is committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding his death.
