Headlinenews investigative reports confirm the Ibos in Lagos State are still adamant on voting Labour Party to exercise their voting rights in Lagos which they refer to as “no man’s land”. Various Ibo groups in Lagos have reassured the APC government in lagos that the Ibos will vote for the re- election of Sanwo- Olu, but some claim its a ruse and the Ibos are committed to vote for Labour Party and make sure Lagos State is governed by the Labour Party.
Many Nigerians are of the opinion that the Labour Party is a regional party and an Ibo party with its stronghold in the SouthEast. The Party however has set out to conquer certain states that could generate the revenue needed to develop the SouthEast. A Lagos Indigene interviewed commented thus: ” Asiwaju caused this problem as he treated the Ibos like lagosians and gave them appointments, access to all the free facilities in the State hence their determination to produce the next Governor. We know they want to surprise us. They want us to relax and believe they will vote for APC, but they won’t. They are quite determined to make Lagos a Labour Party State.” We must take this like war. Not gentleman politics. We are under attack and must defend our territory!”
The battle line is drawn for Saturday 18th March according to those we interviewed.
