INEC ADHOC STAFF RECRUITMENT FOR NEXT ELECTION STARTS, PORTAL OPEN.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened applications for ad hoc staff ahead of the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026.

In a notice released by the commission, interested Nigerians are invited to apply through the official portal: https://pres.inecnigeria.org. The application window runs from April 25 to May 18, 2026, and applicants are advised to complete their registration within that period.

INEC said it is recruiting for several positions, including Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers (POs/APOs), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers, and RATECHs.

For the role of Supervisory Presiding Officer, applicants must be public or civil servants on Grade Level 10 to 14, or INEC staff within the same level who are not already assigned to other duties. RAC Managers are expected to be heads of schools or staff on Grade Level 07 and above in institutions designated as Registration Area Centres.

Those applying for Presiding Officer and Assistant Presiding Officer roles must fall into specific categories, including serving corps members, penultimate students of federal or state tertiary institutions with basic IT skills, staff of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with OND qualifications or on Grade Level 07 to 10, INEC staff on Grade Levels 07 and 08, or former corps members from the 2023 to 2026 batches.

Applicants for RATECH roles are required to have a background in information technology or be qualified ICT personnel within INEC who are not engaged in other responsibilities.

The commission also stressed that applicants must not be members of any political party or show allegiance to any candidate or political group. In addition, all applicants—except those applying as RATECHs—must reside in Ekiti State, where the election will take place.

INEC noted that the recruitment is part of its preparations for the election, in which the incumbent governor, Biodun Oyebanji, is seeking another term in office.

Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply early before the deadline.
