He made the statement during an All Progressives Congress (APC) strategic meeting in Abeokuta, where he assured residents that proactive steps are being taken to prevent criminal groups from gaining a foothold in the state.

Abiodun said the government is responding to increasing cases of terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping by investing in modern security infrastructure and improving coordination with security agencies.

According to him, the state will not wait for attacks before acting, stressing that surveillance systems and other technological tools are being introduced to monitor vulnerable areas.

He also said special attention is being given to the protection of schools, with enhanced security presence, inter-agency collaboration, and monitoring systems aimed at safeguarding students and educational institutions.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to keeping Ogun State safe and maintaining a stable environment for residents and investors.

He further noted that alongside security efforts, the government is increasing focus on human capital development and social programmes to ease economic hardship.

Abiodun also commended APC members in the state for conducting peaceful party primaries, describing the process as transparent and inclusive.

Meanwhile, recent security incidents in the state, including a deadly attack involving security operatives during a kidnapping attempt, have heightened concerns over safety in some areas.
