JUMMAT MUBARAK! BLESSINGS OF THIS HOLY DAY THE 23rd of Safar 1448AH (7 August 2026) VIDEO

*Today is 23rd of Safar 1448AH (7 August 2026)*

*The Book of Medicine – Kitab al-Tibb*

Narrated `Abdul `Aziz:

Thabit and I went to Anas bin Malik. Thabit said, “O Abu Hamza! I am sick.” On that Anas said, “Shall I treat you with the Ruqya of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” Thabit said, “Yes,” Anas recited, *”O Allah! The Lord of the people, the Remover of trouble! (Please) cure (Heal) (this patient), for You are the Healer. None brings about healing but You; a healing that will leave behind no ailment.”*

Sahih al-Bukhari 5742

*NOTE 📝*

1. al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani in his commentary of this hadith highlighted the ruqyah (supplication for healing) taught and practised by the Prophet ﷺ. When Thabit al-Bunani fell ill, Anas ibn Malik (رضي الله عنه) offered to recite the same ruqyah the Prophet ﷺ used: *”Allaahumma Rabba an-nas, adhhib al-ba’s, ishfi anta ash-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illa shifaa’uk, shifaa’an laa yughaadiru saqaman.” (O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves behind no illness.)* This established the Sunnah of using this supplication as a means of seeking Allah’s cure. – Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani

2. Ibn Hajar further commented that the scholars explain that the words *”You are the Healer; there is no healer except You”* affirm that ultimate healing belongs to Allah alone. While medicines and treatments are lawful means, they only benefit by His permission. The hadith also affirms the divine name Ash-Shaafī (The Healer), which is established through the authentic Sunnah and supported by the Qur’an meaning that Allah alone grants healing. – Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani

3. Finally, al-Hafidh noted that authentic narrations also describe Jibreel (Gabriel) performing ruqyah for the Prophet ﷺ with divinely revealed words. Together, these reports establish the legitimacy and virtue of prophetic ruqyah, teaching believers to combine lawful treatment with sincere reliance upon Allah, the only One who grants complete and lasting healing.- Fathul Baari, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani

*O Allah, we ask You (for safety from trials and) well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, we ask You for forgiveness and well-being in our religion, our worldly affairs, our family, and our wealth. O Allah, conceal our faults and protect our vulnerabilities. Indeed, You are All-Hearing, Ever-Responsive. Ãmeen*

*FIVE WAYS TO LIVE A HEALTHY AND PEACEFUL LIFE AS A MUSLIM*

Allah has blessed us with a body, mind, and soul, and every Muslim is responsible for caring for all three. A truly healthy and peaceful life is achieved by combining sound faith with healthy habits.

1. *Strengthen Your Relationship with Allah*

2. Establish the five daily prayers on time, recite and reflect upon the Qur’an, remember Allah frequently (dhikr), and make sincere du’a. A heart connected to Allah enjoys tranquility, as Allah says: “Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Qur’an 13:28)

2. *Eat and Drink in Moderation* Consume what is halal and wholesome (tayyib). Avoid overeating, wastefulness, and harmful substances. The Prophet ﷺ encouraged moderation, and Allah says: “Eat and drink, but do not be excessive.” (Qur’an 7:31)

3. *Maintain Good Character and Forgive Others* Speak kindly, avoid backbiting, control your anger, forgive people, and maintain family ties. Good character brings inner peace, strengthens relationships, and earns Allah’s pleasure.

4. *Take Care of Your Physical Health* Exercise regularly, sleep adequately, maintain personal hygiene, and seek medical treatment when necessary. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Your body has a right over you.” Good health enables a Muslim to worship Allah with strength and energy.

5. *Keep Good Company and Trust Allah* Surround yourself with righteous friends who encourage obedience to Allah. Avoid sinful environments and negative influences. Whatever trials you face, place your trust (tawakkul) in Allah, remain patient, and be grateful in all circumstances.

*Conclusion*

A healthy and peaceful Muslim is one whose heart is attached to Allah, whose body is cared for, whose character is noble, and whose trust is firmly placed in the Creator.

*May Allah grant us sound faith, good health, inner peace, and a blessed ending. Ameen.*
