The Labour Party governorship candidate in Oyo state, Alhaji Tawfiq Akinwale has dissociated himself from the coalition with Seyi Makinde’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that he would not step down for any candidate.
Recall that the Oyo state working committee of the Labour Party, on Sunday, March 5, 2023, announced a coalition with Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure continuity of good governance in the state.
Chairman of the Labour Party in Oyo state, Mr Sadiq Atayese made this known during a news conference at the party office, in Molete, Ibadan.
Atayese pointed out that the coalition followed due authorization from the party national working committee and careful analysis of the political terrain in the state.
He explained that the choice of Governor Makinde was due to the similarity of ideology, competence, compassion for the masses, and numerous achievements of the governor in many sectors.
