The Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has visited Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka amid controversy between the latter and the Obidients.
Obidents, a dubbed description for the supporters of Peter Obi, had dragged Playwright Soyinka over his comment condemning the Vice Presidential candidate of LP, Datti Baba-Ahmed.
However, Obi, through his Twitter handle on Sunday, lauded Soyinka over his achievement on the world stage and his struggle for a better Nigeria.
He said Soyinka’s fight for justice would never be ignored.
He explained that the visit was to erase the needless misconceptions concerning Soyinka and the Obidients movement.
“I cherished this Sunday’s visit, which was intended to erase the needless misconceptions about the relationship between the great icon and the Obidient family”, he posted.
Obi, who came third behind the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25th Presidential election, is currently challenging the polls at the Tribunal billed to commence on Monday, 9th May, 2023.
Peter Obi has, however, been criticized by his supporters, which also led to another mixed reaction from netizens.

PO should understand that he has already missed it long ago.
PO should that visiting Prof Wole Soyinka is not necessary, he ought to have taken prof’s advice on the activities of the Obidents…..”
Innocent wrote: “Waka waka. Can’t you keep malice.”
Reacting to attack on Peter Obi by his followers, Chigozirim Aliyu Emeakayi wrote; “Today, Peter Obi visited Prof. Wole Soyinka, the same man his moronic supporters insulted and abused. Today, Peter Obi is hustling to take a picture with Soyinka. Who is the Boss now?”
Rufai Adamu said; “Obi finally came to apologise for his zombies rudeness and bullying. It’s too late Mr lying machine. Campaign after election, Obi can never win election in Nigeria except on social media.”
Adé wrote: “Be like say Peter Obi na fake “Obidient” Cus what’s this ?”
