#JUST IN: NNPC Opens Up On Reducing Prices Of Petrol And Diesel

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has refuted claims of reducing the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), dismissing circulating reports as false. Olufemi Soneye, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, emphasized this denial in a statement issued on Wednesday, urging Nigerians to disregard the misleading information.

In the statement, Soneye clarified, “NNPC Limited wishes to debunk rumors suggesting a price adjustment for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) at its retail stations nationwide. The company asserts that these reports are false and urges Nigerians to disregard them entirely. NNPC Ltd. reaffirms its commitment to sustaining the current sufficiency in petroleum products supply across all its retail stations in the country.”

In other news, NNPC Limited announced its gas strategy aimed at driving Nigeria’s industrialization and economic growth. Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, NNPC’s Executive Vice President, Upstream, unveiled this plan during a Panel Session at the 2024 CERAWeek Conference in Houston, the United States.

Eyesan highlighted Nigeria’s abundant gas resources, totaling over 200TCF, which could be harnessed to fuel the country’s industrialization and economic advancement. She outlined NNPC Ltd’s initiative to enhance domestic gas utilization for industrial purposes, ensuring nationwide access and optimization of this vital resource. Additionally, she emphasized NNPC’s commitment to advancing infrastructural gas development through various projects across the nation.
