Headlinenews correspondents reports from Kaduna confirm that the Police have arrested PDP Agents with thumb printed ballot papers with the intention to rig and manipulate the electoral process in Kajuru and Zaria, Kaduna State.
Similarly, in Aguda area of Surulere, Lagos, attempts by PDP and Labour Agents to rig was thwarted by the ever vigilant stakeholders.
In Agbado, Lagos, PDP and Labour Party Agents were also arrested with about 500 PVCs with a large amount of cash for bribing officials to permit them rig using PVCs which they purchased. Many people have 5 to 6 PVCs which they sell for Elections. The NUP has recommended that INEC re- issues new PVCs with NIN details to prevent multiple voting and abuse of PVCs. With 80 million issued PVCs, only less than 25million voters were accredited as many people collect PVCs in the six geopolitical zones! Those from the SouthEast where they have the least number of voters in Nigeria have been reported to be guilty of this act. Inec needs to address this and consider the recommendations of the NUP (Nigerians United for Peace)
It appears that political parties will now stop trying to manipulate the electoral process and contest on a free and fair basis as their efforts to rig are being exposed and they will surely be prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others! The legacy which President Buhari promised Nigerians has cone to stay with credible elections!!!
The most credible elections in Nigeria’s Political history, despite the few irregularities, INEC has done an excellent job!!!!
