Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his kind gesture by sending a plane full of care items to earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
The ex-Manchester United footballer has been profoundly moved by the tragic events that caused significant loss of life and had a severe impact on people’s lives.
In an effort to assist those affected, Ronaldo has dispatched a fully loaded airplane of aid to the affected areas.
The Portugal legend has paid for tents, food packages, pillows and blankets, beds, baby food and milk and medical supplies to help aid the humanitarian effort.
The goods have been sent to both Turkey and Syria.
There is hope Ronaldo’s gesture will encourage other sporting figures to follow suit in the coming days and weeks.
Footage emerged on Friday of Ronaldo greeting a young Syrian boy who said it was his dream to meet the ex-Real Madrid forward.
It is not the first time Ronaldo has made such generous donations.
Ronaldo has a history of philanthropy, having previously paid $83,000 (£69,000) to cover the cost of a child’s brain surgery and given $165,000 (£137,000) towards the funding of a cancer center in his home country of Portugal.
