Suspected assassins fatally shot Sylvanus Namang, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, in Pankshin town, Pankshin Local Government Area.
Namang, who left home to attend a burial, was attacked outside his hotel room around 7:30 am on Saturday, according to a correspondent from Headlinenews.news.
An unnamed APC official confirmed Namang’s death, attributing it to injuries sustained in the attack.
The late Namang was described as a loyal ally dedicated to APC’s grassroots and state-level development.
The party plans to release a statement regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
In unrelated news, the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command announced the arrest of approximately 28 suspects from various black spots across the state.
The arrests, revealed via a brief statement on the RRS’s official handle on Sunday, targeted individuals in Ketu, Old Toll Gate, Mile 12 Underbridge, and Motorways. The suspects, apprehended on Thursday, are set to face court charges.
The statement further clarified that 18 individuals were released after careful screening, with the remaining 28 slated for legal proceedings under the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade.
