President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, ahead of his planned pilgrimage to Makkah, where he is expected to perform Umrah, commonly known as the Lesser Hajj.

The President arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday evening, October 29, 2026, where he was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and the Kingdom’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.

The pilgrimage is expected to provide Tinubu with an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued development.
According to the Presidency, the President will observe the religious rites associated with Umrah while seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for the country and its citizens.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the religious exercise.
