The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar have sympathised with victims of the accident involving a train and Lagos State staff bus.
Recall that the accident occurred on Thursday morning in the PWD area of Ikeja, in Lagos State.
The accident which involved a moving train operated by the Nigerian Railway Corporation, (NRC) rammed into a Lagos State Government staff bus at Shogunle and Ikeja, axis of the state, killing at least six persons, while 80 sustained various degrees of injuries.
A statement by Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, read, “I offer my sincere condolences to the victims and families affected by the gory incident involving a train and a bus in the Ikeja area of Lagos State earlier today.
“I am praying for all, including those who died and those who sustained injuries in the tragic and unfortunate incident.
The National Patriots hereby expresses our profound sympathy with the Lagos State Government and the good people of Lagos on the unfortunate mishap which occurred between the Train and the BRT Bus today involving the death of up to six persons so far and scores of injured victims. We commiserate with the families who lost their loved ones and whose members were severely injured, May God Almighty in His Infinite Mercy grant the injured divine healing and speedy recovery and grant the souls of the departed victims Firdaus Al- Jannat. Ameen. May God grant the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. Amen. Our heart is with the Lagos State Government for losing their staff in this incident.
We shall continue to pray so that those who are fighting for their lives on the danger list in the hospital are able to recover through divine itervention and Gods grace. Amen.
