The Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, revealed on Friday that marauding bandits, causing terror in certain areas of the state, have issued threats to attack him. This disclosure was made during an extensive emergency security council meeting held at the Government House.
Governor Radda conveyed that the bandits’ intention was drawn from security reports.
Addressing the gathering in Hausa, he stated, “Based on the security reports we are receiving, I am one of those targeted by the bandits for an attack. However, this does not deter me because God is with us, and He will protect us.”
Nevertheless, the governor clarified that the menace posed by the criminals would not hinder his government from implementing dynamic security strategies to combat banditry and other security issues in the state.
The security meeting, attended by heads of security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, key government officials, and members of the business community, was ongoing at the time of filing this report.
