#JUSTIN: Renewed Anguish: Tinubu’s Hopeful Agenda Evoking Dissatisfaction – Ex-APC Leader

The former National Vice Chairman for the Northwest region of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has expressed concern that President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ is swiftly transforming into ‘renewed anger.’

Lukman, in response to recent protests in Minna and Kano protesting the escalating cost of living, characterized the events as a wake-up call for the federal government.

He criticized the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, for attempting to deflect blame onto the opposition for sponsoring the protests, even within the party’s strongholds.

Rather than attributing the protests to imaginary opposition parties, the ex-APC Vice Chair emphasized that the APC leadership and government should take responsibility.

“The undeniable truth is that there is widespread hardship! As a dedicated APC member, it is disheartening that this is occurring under our party’s leadership. Even more disheartening was Mr. Felix Morka’s statement, our National Publicity Secretary, alleging opposition involvement in the protests,” Lukman expressed.

He asserted that Morka’s misleading statement indicates a complete loss of direction in the party’s leadership and government. Lukman highlighted that the pretense of being progressive has seemingly been abandoned.

In Lukman’s view, the protests, occurring within a year of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, demand an urgent government response. He emphasized that this response should address the harsh realities of soaring prices for goods and services, particularly food items, which are escalating almost hourly.
