Professor Cyril Ndifon, the suspended dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), has been granted bail by an Abuja Federal High Court, where he is currently facing trial alongside his lawyer, Sunny Anyanwu, on four amended counts of alleged sexual harassment and an attempt to pervert the course of justice.
In the ruling on their bail application, Justice James Omotoso stipulated that Ndifon be granted bail in the sum of N250 million with two sureties, each owning properties within the FCT valued at a minimum of N150 million.
Ndifon and his sureties are also required to submit their bank statements, and he must surrender his international passport to the court.
Similarly, Anyanwu was granted bail in the sum of N50 million with two sureties, who are also obliged to submit their bank statements. Both defendants must file an undertaking not to interfere with the case, express readiness to attend trial, and commit not to cause any delays.
The trial judge adjourned the matter until Monday for the continuation of the hearing.
